Damien English TD was re-elected to Dáil Éireann in May, 2007. He was appointed Deputy Spokesperson on Enterprise, with Special Responsibility for Labour Affairs & Small Business, October, 07.

Damien was previously Deputy Spokesperson on Justice & Community Affairs with Special Responsibility for Drugs, Alcohol & Crime Prevention, October, 2004

He was also previously Deputy Spokesperson on Arts, Sports and Tourism.

Damien was elected Secretary to the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party on Thursday 5th September 2002.

Elected to the Dáil in 2002., Damien was previously the youngest member of Meath County Council having been elected in 1999 at 21 years of age.

Damien is a member of the Meath County Enterprise Board Ltd; Navan Shamrock Festival Organisers board; Meath County Development Board and the British-Irish Interparliamentary Body. He is also on the Meath County Council Strategic Policy Committee on Infrastructure.
